History & Patronage

Carrigtwohill Community College is a newly opened second-level educational facility under the patronage of Cork Education and Training Board and the Diocese of Cloyne. We opened our doors in August 2016 with an initial enrolment of forty-three 1st year students. In February 2024, the college moved to its new, state-of-the-art building at Station Road, Carrigtwohill, which can cater for up to 1,000 students.

The underpinning value of our College is to be a community of teaching and learning where all students have equal opportunity to reach their potential, where talents are nurtured and positive relationships fostered.

This is facilitated through a balanced and varied school curriculum designed to meet the academic, personal and social needs of our students. We harness our students’ strengths, support their challenges and develop their leadership whilst promoting the Christian values of compassion and respect.

Through a dedicated, enthusiastic and innovative teaching team, our students experience a safe, supportive and inclusive school community environment where they can thrive and reach their academic and personal goals. Our varied extra-curricular programme include activities for all tastes: sport, music, art and design and debating to name but a few.

Carrigtwohill Community College aims to develop and enhance all of its relationships with its stakeholders: students, parents, staff, the community and not least Cork ETB and The Diocese of Cloyne.
